Missionary

I just said goodbye to my little brother for two years. I can't believe he's already old enough to go on a mission! Love you Elder, you'll do great!

These are my 5 younger bros. Aren't they handsome/tall/skinny? I love them all very much! They are the best buds a sister could ask for!

Wow! I don't know about you, but this summer seemed to fly by! I can't believe it's all but over! Here are some pictures of what we've been doing to wrap the summer up. Grandma Mudrow bought her a puzzle and she loves it! It was the first 'big' puzzle she put together by herself.

Virtue

Being the mom of all girls, I find myself paying special attention to counsel given to girls and women. Obviously I want the very best for my girls, I'm doing all I can to teach them to be ladies, to learn, know, and remember who they are, where they came from and where they are going. Virtue has been added to the Young Women's theme and I came across this quote I now love
"Give me a young woman who loves home and family, who reads and ponders the scriptures daily, who has a burning testimony of the Book of Mormon. Give me a young woman who faithfully attends her church meetings, who is a seminary graduate, who has earned her Young Womanhood Recoginition Award and wears it with pride! Kleadle

In our kitchen floor we have a vent. And just before it started getting cold I noticed a spider had made it's home there. I tried to kill it but was to slow and just got it's leg. Disgusting, I know. Both of my girls were watching me screaming and yelling like an idiot and asked what happened. I told them the tale concluding with 'I guess we need to put off some bug bombs.' Later that week, I found my daughter singing into the vent, which is totally normal for her. I became curious when I heard her talking to someone for an extended period of time. When I asked her who she was talking to, she replied without hesitiation, "Kleadle."
"Who is Kleadle?" I asked, thinking we had started some imaginary friend phase.
"My pet spider, he hurt his leg and I'm singing to him to cheer him up."
I was surprised that she had remembered the spider from days before, and further surprised that she had named him.
Since then she sings and talks to Kleadle almost daily. She gives me updates on how his leg is healing and what kind of mood he's in.
He has become her cherished friend, and of course I don't have the heart to tell her that he is no longer with us. I guess it doesn't matter because to her he is.

Halloween Happenings

I asked my daughter what she would like to be for Halloween several weeks ago and she told me that she wanted to be a princess, so we got a cute little pink dress. A few days later she told me that she wanted to be a Fairy princess, so we grabbed some cute pink wings. Perfect they matched great and she looked way cute. Then we run across this headband with flower petals on it, and of course my daughter now wants to wear that on her head and be a Flower Fairy Princess. It's interesting, not what I had in mind, slightly silly looking, but she's a little kid. So for sure we have this Halloween costume thing taken care of right? Yesterday she comes up to me with this serious look on her face and said, "Mom, I need to be Spiderman for Halloween." super
